Refund Policy.

Our approach to cancellations and refunds.

Last updated: 21 May 2026

Plain-English summary

How refunds work at AnyNews. The short version:

  • You can cancel any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
  • We do not provide prorated refunds for unused time, mid-cycle cancellations, or downgrades.
  • EU and UK consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period for their first paid subscription. If you cancel within 14 days, you get a full refund minus any usage.
  • Refunds outside the cooling-off period are at our discretion, in cases like billing errors, service outages, or other circumstances we judge appropriate.
  • All sales of paid subscriptions are final once the cooling-off period passes, unless we say otherwise.

The full policy below is the legally binding version.

1. Scope

1.1 This Refund Policy ("Policy") applies to all paid subscriptions to AnyNews. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service and uses the same defined terms.

1.2 Pricing, plans, and billing mechanics are described on our Pricing page and in Terms of Service §8.

2. Cancellation

2.1 How to cancel

You can cancel your paid subscription at any time from your account settings (Profile → Subscription → Cancel). No phone call, support ticket, or written notice is required.

2.2 When cancellation takes effect

Cancellation stops the next billing cycle. You retain access to paid features through the end of your current billing period (monthly or annual, depending on your plan).

2.3 No prorated refunds

We do not provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period when you cancel. If you cancel on day 5 of a 30-day cycle, you retain access for the remaining 25 days but receive no refund for those days. The same applies to annual subscriptions canceled mid-year.

3. EU and UK 14-day cooling-off period

3.1 Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer (an individual purchasing not in connection with a trade or business) and you reside in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you have the right to cancel your first paid subscription to AnyNews within 14 days of the start of that subscription, without giving a reason, and receive a refund.

3.2 How to exercise

To exercise your right of withdrawal, email info@anynews.ai within 14 days of your first payment, with the subject line "EU/UK Refund Request" and your account email. We will process the refund within 14 days of receiving your request.

3.3 Refund amount

You will receive a refund of the subscription amount paid, less a deduction proportional to the use you have already made of the Service (under EU Directive 2011/83/EU Article 14). For example, if you used 4 days of a 30-day subscription before withdrawing, the refund will be approximately 26/30 of the amount paid.

3.4 Method of refund

Refunds are issued to the original payment method (the card or PayPal account used for the purchase).

3.5 Loss of withdrawal right

The right of withdrawal does not apply:

  • To subscriptions that have already fully expired before you withdraw.
  • After you have used the Service for the full period of your first billing cycle (you cannot use the full month, then ask for a refund).
  • To renewal payments - the cooling-off period applies only to the first payment for a new subscription.

4. Other refunds (at our discretion)

Outside the cooling-off period in §3, refunds are not guaranteed. We may, at our discretion, provide partial or full refunds in cases such as:

  • Billing errors - duplicate charges, incorrect plan billed, or other clear mistakes on our side.
  • Extended service outages - if the Service is unavailable for an extended period due to our fault and you were materially unable to use it.
  • Account closure before use - if you paid but never used the Service and request a refund promptly.
  • Subscription tier downgrade - when we change pricing or tier composition in ways that materially affect your existing subscription.

To request a refund outside the cooling-off period, email info@anynews.ai with the subject "Refund Request" and a description of the circumstances. We aim to respond within 10 business days.

5. No refunds for

We do not provide refunds in the following circumstances:

5.1 Subscription renewals

Automatic renewals are not refundable. You can disable auto-renewal at any time from your account settings; we will not refund a renewal that already processed because you forgot to cancel.

5.2 Account terminations for violations

Accounts terminated for violations of our Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service are not entitled to refunds for the remaining billing period.

5.3 Used services

Once you have used the Service substantially during a billing period, that period is generally non-refundable (except under the cooling-off provisions in §3).

5.4 Third-party charges

Charges by Stripe, PayPal, or your bank for currency conversion, transaction fees, or other third-party costs are not within our control and are not refundable through us. Contact the relevant provider for those.

6. How refunds are processed

6.1 Method

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.

6.2 Timing

Once approved, refunds typically appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days for cards and 1 to 3 business days for PayPal, depending on your bank or PayPal's processing times.

6.3 Currency

Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge.

7. Changes

We may update this Policy at any time. Material changes are notified per our Terms of Service §15.1.
